Stand for Human Dignity

Together we can change Washington

Our Lives Matter — Stand for Human Dignity

We are a diverse group of individuals who fled the war in Ukraine, seeking safety and hope in the Netherlands. Like countless others displaced by conflict, we believed in a Europe guided by compassion, fairness, and human rights. Today, our future is uncertain—but our voices remain strong.

This is not just a plea for continued protection. It is a call to uphold human dignity—a call for empathy, fairness, and justice. We believe that every person, regardless of background, race, or nationality, deserves to be treated with respect and understanding. Human rights must never be conditional.

The fight we lead today is not only for ourselves but for every displaced person navigating the chaos and hardship of global conflict. Many of us lost homes, education, careers, and community. Yet, we are more than our losses. We are students, workers, parents, and dreamers, committed to rebuilding our lives with dignity.

Discrimination, unequal treatment, and bureaucratic obstacles have left us in limbo. But our mission is clear: to challenge injustice, to speak truth, and to advocate for a future where compassion prevails over indifference.

We urge decision-makers to honor the principles enshrined in the EU Temporary Protection Directive and extend protection equally to all who fled the war in Ukraine. Protecting human life and dignity should never be selective.

This is a fight for justice—a stand for humanity. And we will not be silent.

Denied Protection = Denied Humanity
